VALGA 2008-08-23

I must have slept for an eternity when I got up at 12 o clock or something. We gathered our belongings and went to Valga which is where we're playing tonight. Went to a mall to buy some food for tonight since the promotor doesn't provide us with anything to eat. All of us have been promoting shows on and off over the years and food for the bands, especially travelling bands is a priority so we're honestly a little bit unsatisfied about that, but alright, whatever.
At the mall a bloke approached us and introduced himself as the promotor of tonight's show. He took us to the club and here we are. Hanging out in the van. It's raining like hell, of course. At the moment I can't recall a single day of this tour without rain. Everyone except for me is sleeping.

01:30
Going to bed any minute.
Some locals are hanging out at the club still. Getting fucked and blasting nu-metal from a stereo somewhere next door from the backstage-room, which is where we're sleeping tonight.

A drunk-as-fuck asshole said one of us should sleep with a girl in his company. Hugo said no thanks and the dude called us gay. Interesting.

It didn't seem like our set tonight would be something to write home about until a song or two into it, when kids gave up the smoking-area for the concert-room. We gave all we had of blood and sweat and deserved the front-row-bangers I think. Good times after all. Good night.

KILINGI-NÖMMÖ 2008-08-22

Left the Oranssi-office, where we stayed for the night, waaaaaayyy too early to catch the ferry to Tallinn, Estonia. Despite the early hours everybody was in a good mood. Got on the ferry and got some more sleep on the floor, in a hallway. Some brats right by us annoyed me a bit and for a moment I wanted to hurt them severly but I calmed down and found some peace. No killing today.

Got off the ferry and was suprised that the border control was gone.
We drove through Estonia to Kilingi-Nömmö, whish is pretty close to the Latvian border. Asked some punks in town where the festivalsite was and made it there safe and sound. It's a big field by a lake with a number of small sheds around and two stages.
We hung out a bit with the nice lads of CONTEMPT whose bassplayer just passed away after some time of sickness. Good to see them carrying on despite this tragical event.

I passed out in the van and woke up more or less right in time for soundcheck. We played our rock, hung out with some locals, sold some merch, had some food and the other dudes enjoyed the festival while I went back to sleep for the night.

HELSINKI 2008-08-21

A friend recommended that we should go to the Lenin-museum in Tampere and so we did. Everyone was psyched about it. If you get the chance check it out! "I am the walrus".

We arrived at tonight's club right on time and shook hands with Juho, the promotor. Decent man with a beard. Did the usual, tourduties, had food, took a crap and did some hotmail-ing. I'd been looking forward to this show for a long time since I knew I'd meet Kimmo, Hannu and Antti. Sweet to see some familiar faces. Jani who just moved back to Finland showed up and provided some good times. Good seeing him of course. His band, DEATHBED is planning to play Sweden early next year, definitely looking forward to see them.

First band, EYE FOR ALL sounded like OUTSPOKEN and ILLS were massive. Our set went good and even though kids were a bit passive most seemed to enjoy our noise.

TAMPERE 2008-08-20

Left Jere's place pretty early with a promise to come back. Gave him a record for his kindness and hospitality and went for Tampere with the rain pouring down like hell. Stopped some by the road to buy sodas and sweets, but still arrived in Tampere in time.

Since the rain had ceased to piss down some of us decided to go for a walk. The area around the club is amazing. Lots beautiful houses and small streets. We reached a lake and as the sun was setting and most of us felt this was a once in a lifetime-thing we leaped into the cold water. Took some silly photos on the beach, showed some ass to people walking by and slowly walked back to the club. Good times, damn good times.

Soundchecked, had food, local band played, we played. Got flapjacks for my beertickets and went to the place where we'd stay for the night.

Linus excused himself for not taking his shoes off at first but our host for the night said he didn't care and showed us the carpet where some(!) of his friends had thrown up, cool. We appeared to be in good company. All of us passed out early.
